An educated, equipped public health workforce brings skills to healthcare IPC that can improve outcomes and drive interventions to enhance the safe provision of healthcare.
This engaging half-day workshop will convene public health partners working in healthcare settings to enhance infection prevention and control (IPC) practices while addressing healthcare disparities and systemic inequities. Designed as a practical and collaborative session, the workshop will include pre-read materials to ensure participants have a shared foundation for discussion. Building on insights into workforce trends, the evolving role of Infection Preventionists (IPs), and strategies to bridge gaps between clinical and public health practices, attendees will engage in dialogue and hands-on activities. The session aims to strengthen partnerships and collaboration with local healthcare entities, positioning public health institutes as indispensable collaborators in reducing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and promoting population health.
This workshop is designed for NNPHI Annual Conference attendees, including professionals from public health institutes, healthcare organizations, health departments, academic institutions, and other partners interested in strengthening partnerships to address infection prevention and control. Ideal participants include those working to bridge public health and healthcare settings, particularly in the context of HAIs and IPC initiatives.
